Now who's fuzzy?
We had shish kabob and rocky road. Then it was over to the Esmerelda for kamikazis in the pool.
Having driven 90 miles north from Carlsbad on the I15 to Ontario Airport, we rendezvoused with the ChaiChuChots at 9:30 for our 11am flight.
In Seattle Amy, Ana, John and Sue met us and we navigated a caravan to Lincoln Park in West Seattle where the ferry docks by a saltwater pool.
The pool was good except a power drunk life guard made Garrett swim the length of the pool and back three times and still had gripes about his stroke.
He balked at doing it a fourth time and didn't go back in.
After the pool we went back to Amy and Steve's house in Freemont where Amy, who is block captain, had organized a block party.
Esme and Malissa were in awe of John Perry.
Next morning Ana we fetched Ana after "crew," which is hours of paddling across Green Lake and back in very long, narrow boats.
We took the gang up to a horse ranch where everybody got on a horse. This is Esme on...?
Gaby road Cowbody.
Garrett rode Tammy Faye.
Malissa was on ....?
Genny rode...?
Amy rode Dee.
...and away we went.
clippity clop.
...into the forrest.
trot, trot
On the way back to Seattle we stopped in to see Aunt Anne, who just turned 80!
And then back to the Perry's to celebrate Ana's birthday.
Next day found us out on the lake in kayaks.
Then to the bookstore and over to the student center at U.W. for bowling.
After bowling it was back to Freemont for Mexican food and politics.
Next day we went to Tacoma where we visited the Glass museum.
They put on quite a show!
Then it was back to Green Lake for the Hiroshima memorial.
Next morning found us back in Van Green.
...to see Ana race in the Rigata.
Then up to Edmonds to catch the Ferry to the peninsula.
Where we stayed in a neat cabin up in Sequim.
We went to the movies to see the Manchurian candidate. Amy stopped to make a call.
Next day it was out to Port Angeles where there's a spit.
...and then back on the Ferry
Once in Seattle we went to an Ethiopian restaurant.
The food was tasty!
The next day kolya, Garret and I went with John out on John's new pelican.
Then we me up with cousin Nona and her daughter (my first cousin, once removed) for a salmon picnic.
Ana waded out in Lake Washington to take a picture of us all on the bank.
Then it was back to the Perry's for Cheesecake. David played chess with Garrett.
Having driven 90 miles north from Carlsbad on the I15 to Ontario Airport, we rendezvoused with the ChaiChuChots at 9:30 for our 11am flight. Unfortunately, our seats were in row 33: the very back of the DC10, where the view to either side was obscured by very, very loud jet engines and people in need of bodily relief would queue up and bump their loaded abdomens and abdowomens from side to side in anxious anticipation. An inauspicious start for Malissa and Esme’s flying careers. Especially for Es, who had to sit by herself to get a viewless window seat.
The tickets promised “lunch,” but all we got were a little packet on nuts and beverages. All of this prompted Gaby to register some concerns with the clerk at SeaTac and thus garner the promise of 6 6th row seats on the return flight.
